THE FROZEN GOOSE - UPDATES
We've been having some 'serious fun' over the past few days putting together a couple of critical 'set up' shots for the production. One shot entailed the rising of a bloody hand on a battlefield during a snowstorm ... After several hours of 'make-up' this male hand (note wedding band) does the trick. It creates just the right amount of foreboding, despair - and hope - in a world gone mad with war ... Stay tuned for more Behind-the Scenes updates. Merry Christmas to you all - from the cast and crew at The Frozen Goose. Have been scouring for just the Right 'Look' for our talented cast. Have even commissioned a few items critical to the script, for young Hannah Ralph, aka 'Bella' - gorgeous ruby red wool-knit mittens - with matching head-scarf and 'chapeau' ...
Via The HAMILTON SPECTATOR - Waterdown Artist takes Director's Chair ... Known for her award-winning artwork and literature, Waterdown artist Margaret Lindsay Holton is making her debut as a
director of a fictional short film. The Frozen Goose, based on a short story written by Holton, traces the struggles of a rural Canadian farming family whose members’ lives have been shattered by the First World War. Originally published in an anthology of the Great War, Engraved: Canadian Stories of World War One, the narrative tests the strength and fortitude of a family trying to survive in a world that has been forever changed. “There’s been loss, tragedy, misunderstanding, relations are broken. And then an incident occurs that turns their lives around forever,” said Holton. While keeping tight-lipped on details of the incident, Holton said the story is sure to tug on the heartstrings and keep viewers emotionally invested in the lives of the five main characters. .... The IndieGoGo campaign for film, The Frozen Goose, will start in early September. People can follow along with the production on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheFrozenGoose . Two teaser trailers have been released in advance of the campaign, accompanied by the toe-tapping fiddling of the ever popular Golden Horseshoe fiddler, David Clarence MacLean. At present, the storyboards are complete, the script is 'locked' to locations and we are starting to sort out props and costumes. Lotsa fun!! Shooting will occur in February of 2016. Post production is March/April/May. Packaging and final distribution, including festival entries, will be set up during the summer of 2016. Look for RELEASE in the FALL of 2016. |
